Restore Your Rechargeable Batteries

There are several ways to restore a rechargeable battery instead of throwing it away. You can save money by studying battery reconditioning procedures. All you need is a few simple electrical tools and materials and you can do this right in your home.

Most types of rechargeable batteries can be reconditioned or returned to almost new conditions. If you can do this, you can extend the life of your battery longer than their normal life span. You can expect a life of up to 1,000 cycles of filling and discharging for several types of batteries depending on the manufacturer and conditions of use of the battery. You can explore for purchasing durable lithium batteries.

Some batteries such as NiCads used in electric appliances will not last as long as they can because they develop memory effects. Some say this condition is not there but it is open to debate. Memory effects appear by not leaving the battery fully charged before being recharged.

After developing this condition, the battery does not fully take power, it is only partially charging. When the battery goes through more charge and discharge cycles, it continues to take less filling until it becomes useless. There are improvements to this that can be done at home.

Recondition can be used on your cellphone batteries, laptops, power tools and many others. Lithium-ion can give you around 300 to 500 charge cycles and last for several years. This battery is better recharged before it dies, unlike NiCad batteries. Lithium-ion batteries also do not develop memory effects, and are usually not reconditioned like other types of batteries.
